Silvia Nagi, Civil Rights Coordinator for CAIR-Florida, was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She comes from a humble, close-knit family with ten siblings where she learned about humility and generosity. Her parents taught them that, even if you don’t have a lot of money, you should always try to offer someone a helping hand or a plate of food.

In her professional career, Ms. Nagi always worked in administrative positions and never thought of working for a nonprofit organization. One day, in September of 2010, she walked into the Tampa office out of curiosity and discovered a new love - the community.

After a few years, she left to start her own business but she decided to return in April of 2017 because she was not able to let go of the desire to be part of the best civil rights team in Florida!

To Silvia, it is an honor to be the first person visitors see when they come through the door.
