“I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it is for or against. I’m a human being, first and foremost, and as such I’m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.”  Malcom X

Malcom X expresses so elegantly my beliefs on justice and equality. The need to seek both in the society in which we live today is the reason that I am part of CAIR-Florida. I seek to protect the rights of Muslim communities as well as immigrants and other marginalized groups who have had their civil liberties infringed upon or taken from them.

I am an immigrant, the oldest of three sons of Indian immigrants who came to the U.S. as university students. I have lived in all parts of the country, from the Midwest to the Southwest to the West Coast and finally New England where I spent the majority of my childhood. I enrolled in Boston College, where I graduated with a bachelors’ degree in Accounting and from there went to Suffolk University Law School where I received my law degree.

After graduating from law school, I worked at State Street Bank and from there I joined KPMG, the international accounting and consulting firm as a senior bankruptcy consultant. After marriage, I moved to Philadelphia where I worked as a lawyer at a firm specializing in complex commercial litigation. After moving to Florida, I started my own law practice, serving clients in the areas of contract law, criminal defense, and immigration. In 2019, in order to pursue my goal of seeking justice and equality for those who cannot achieve it themselves, I joined CAIR-Florida.
