Position Overview
The Youth and Outreach Coordinator will develop and implement programs designed to engage, empower, and support Muslim youth across Florida. This individual will also serve as a key representative for CAIR-Florida’s initiatives by building relationships with stakeholders, hosting events, and fostering meaningful community connections. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication skills (including public speaking), thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and is willing to travel to different Florida regions at least once a month to expand and strengthen outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Development
- Program Creation & Implementation: Develop and execute youth-focused initiatives that foster leadership, education, and community involvement.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Work alongside the outreach team to create engaging and impactful programs and workshops.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on program success, identifying areas for improvement to ensure continuous growth and relevance.
Community Outreach & Event Coordination
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong partnerships with schools, youth groups, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Event Management: Plan and execute community events, workshops, and educational programs (including logistics, marketing, and volunteer coordination).
- Representation: Serve as a public face of CAIR-Florida at local and regional events, articulating the organization’s mission and advocacy efforts clearly and effectively.
- Documentation: Prepare event recaps, maintain attendance logs, and track outreach impact with regular updates to leadership.
Administrative & Miscellaneous Duties
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain organized records of youth engagement, outreach activities, and program evaluations.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Flexibly respond to additional tasks that support the overarching mission and operations of CAIR-Florida.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, youth development, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years in youth development, education, or a similar role (mentorship, volunteer management, etc.).
- Communication Skills: Strong written/verbal communication, including public speaking, plus familiarity with social media platforms.
- Professionalism & Integrity: Demonstrated ethical conduct and the ability to work with youth responsibly.
- Detail-Oriented & Organized: Able to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Self-Starter: Demonstrated initiative in problem-solving, program development, and day-to-day operations.
Preferred Skills
- Experience planning and coordinating events or workshops.
- Background in public speaking and mentorship.
- Passion for civil rights, social justice, or community advocacy.
