CAIR-FL Condemns Antisemitic Incidents in Jacksonville and Weston
(SUNRISE, FL, 1/12022) — The Florida Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Florida) today condemned multiple racist and antisemitic expressions publicly displayed in the cities of Jacksonville and Weston, Fla., and called on Jacksonville and Broward Sheriff Offices to improve the security of these targeted Florida neighborhoods.
It was reported on October 30th by the Orlando Sentinel that the University of Florida and the University of Georgia issued a joint statement on Sunday condemning an antisemitic message displayed at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville during Saturday’s Gators-Bulldogs football game.

CAIR-Florida is requesting that Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and the Broward Sheriff's Office investigate these incidents as potential hate crimes and offer protection to the affected religious minority communities in Jacksonville and Broward County.
CAIR-Florida’s Communications Director Wilfredo Amr Ruiz said:
“There is no space for any expressions of racism and antisemitism in our state. Unfortunately, these hate incidents are still too common; from the northern region in Jacksonville to more than 300 miles south in Weston.
“Law enforcement is expected to protect our constitutionally-guaranteed freedom of worship from any hindrance coming from racist and antisemitic expressions that may be construed as calls for violence.”
