A representative for CAIR-Florida issued the following statement: "We congratulate the Hillsborough County first responders for their prompt response to this tragic situation".

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. A nonprofit is offering a $5,000 reward for information about the fire.

- An overnight fire at a Tampa mosque has been ruled arson, leaving worshippers at the Islamic Society of New Tampa with no place to hold services while investigators search for clues.

WFTS Tampa Bay reports fire investigators were notified about a fire at an outdoor entrance to the mosque around 2 a.m.

Fire officials say a fire that damaged a Tampa area mosque was arson.

"Whoever did this maybe meant to discourage us not to be part of this community", Mazen Bondogji, a member of the mosque's board, said at a news conference on Friday, according to the Times.

Forty-eight Jewish community centers in 26 U.S. states and one Canadian province received almost 60 bomb threats during January, according to the JCCA, an association of JCCs. "We are part of this community and we will stay".

There were rumors spread from the scene that there were gunshots through an exterior door at the Mosque.

Fire investigators will review surveillance-camera footage to try and learn more about who started the blaze, CNN affiliate WFTS said. This time another Florida mosque has been targeted in a crime that could have easily taken the life of any worshiper.

Wilfredo Amr Ruiz, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Florida, said it appears to have been a hate crime, according to CBS affiliate WTSP-TV in Tampa.

"Their fear is that it's hate-related, but it's too early to say if it is or isn't", she said at a news conference outside the mosque. "This is America. Our America, their America".
