Azka Mahmood is a Pakistani- American advocate for human and civil rights. She has a background in research, policy analysis, and social inequalities.  Azka believes in creating research-informed social change and policy reform. She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and has done extensive graduate studies in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of South Florida. Her academic focus is on American Muslims and their engagement in social and political spheres.

Azka has been an activist for social justice in a personal capacity as well as through inter-faith and inter-minority collaborations. Based in Panama City, Florida, she has undertaken urban development projects for a historically Black neighborhood in the city, and volunteers with minority organizations. Azka has spearheaded several interfaith outreach activities through the local mosque."

I am passionate about CAIR's work because I believe in taking an active part in shaping a better, kinder, and more equitable society for my children, American Muslims, and all minorities in America.
