(TAMPA, FL - 1/25/2017) CAIR-Florida, the state's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization announced that its CAIR-Florida Tampa office will offer a press conference after Trump signs "Muslim Ban" executive orders. CAIR-Florida directors will be joined by multiple Tampa Bay interfaith partners and civil rights allies who will be reacting on the executive orders signed by President Donald Trump restricting immigration from Syria and six other Middle Eastern and African countries. President Trump is also expected to temporarily bar most refugees from entry to the United States. Yet another order will block visas from being issued to citizens of Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.

The orders will be the actual implementation of what presidential candidate Trump promised would be a complete ban on Muslims entering the United States if he became president.

CAIR-Florida Chief Executive Director Hassan Shibly said, "These executive orders will not make our nation any safer, rather it will make our nation more fearful and less welcoming, and such restrictions run contrary to the very founding principles of our nation."
