Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office Hosted Inaugural Community Council Meeting
Tampa, Florida – The State Attorney’s Office (SAO) was excited to host its inaugural Community Council (“Council”) meeting on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. The purpose of the Council is to ensure transparency and build trust with our fellow residents by engaging in candid dialogue on criminal justice issues, addressing community concerns, and providing insight on SAO policies. This proactive engagement promotes accountability, facilitates effective policy-making, and increases understanding about our criminal justice system.
The Council consists of organization representatives and at-large members who represent the diversity of Hillsborough County and support the State Attorney’s mission to build a safer community while promoting justice and fairness for everyone. Council members include a cross-section of individuals with impressive records of civic engagement throughout the county.
“Creating opportunities for accessibility to this office has been a top priority of my administration,” said State Attorney Andrew Warren. “I’m thrilled to work with this team of civic leaders as ambassadors of criminal justice for the benefit of Hillsborough residents.”
