(WASHINGTON D.C./MIAMI, FL, 2/14/2022) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organizations, and its CAIR-Florida Chapter, the State’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed the final judgment entered in favor of CAIR Foundation and CAIR-Florida, Inc. and against Illoominate Media, Inc. and Laura Loomer, ordering them to pay a total of $124,423.37 in attorneys’ fees and costs stemming from a lawsuit falsely claiming the Muslim civil rights organization colluded with Twitter to have her banned.
Yesterday, United States District Judge Rodolfo A. Ruiz II entered the final judgement stating that Loomer owed $123,761.65 to CAIR and its Florida chapter, plus $661.72 in costs.

In a statement, CAIR Trial Attorney Justin Sadowsky said: “We gave Laura the opportunity to pay what she owes for her frivolous lawsuit without further litigation and she refused. She is about to learn the hard way that debts come due regardless.”
CAIR-Florida lead counsel, Omar Saleh, stated: “We’re glad to see the final judgment of attorney fees against Laura Loomer. We believe it serves to show that filing meaningless lawsuits and frivolous appeals actually has a cost.”
BACKGROUNDER:
Last August, CAIR first welcomed the federal magistrate judge’s order that Loomer must pay the costs and fees.
CAIR sought those costs and fees last year following an 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling affirming the dismissal of a lawsuit filed by Loomer and Illoominate Media against CAIR.
In 2019, the district court dismissed both CAIR and CAIR-Florida from Loomer’s “nonsensical” lawsuit. Loomer had alleged—based on a prank that had long since been revealed not to be true—that CAIR had persuaded Twitter to ban the Islamophobic failed Congressional candidate from Twitter.
